Service Technician- ACHESON, AB & SURREY, BC

Westquip Diesel Sales is hiring a Service Technician at our Acheson, AB and Surrey, BC locations.

Ideal candidate will have 5+ years of technical service experience. You are able to diagnose and assess mechanical failure in various types of industrial equipment and have the ability to read and understand schematics and diagrams. You have knowledge of electronically controlled diesel engines and diesel electric power generation.

Knowledge: Experience with supported product line; competent with Microsoft Office; Demonstrated influential skill-set; industry experience and knowledge of industry sectors an asset

Job Duties 

The Technician is required to perform skilled tasks in the mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance of diesel-powered equipment in power generation, construction, ground support, mining, generating, pump sets, and material handling.

Perform diagnostics and repairs on various types of power generation equipment and other machinery

Complete reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments, and warranty repairs

Account for time and materials used on repairs orders

Track and input all time spent on repair orders in shop or service calls

Ability to use diagnostic tools

Complete Factory Training from Isuzu, Yanmar, Hatz and JCB

 

Requirements

Journeyman Designation Mechanical (HET or Diesel Engine)

Experience with diesel generators

Experience with trouble shooting AC and DC electrical

Ability to work and test AC generators

Experience with electronic common rail diesel engine

Demonstrate strong customer service skills

A valid driver’s license with clean driver’s record

Perform work in both field and in shop

Supply own tools

 

Parts Technician- SURREY, BC 

Westquip Diesel Sales LTD is hiring a Parts Technician for our Surrey, BC location.

This position is responsible for answering daily parts inquires, processing and shipping orders, maintaining and sourcing inventory and promoting our product lines.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Answer retail parts inquiries via phone, email, and in person
  • Look up requested parts based on OEM Parts Catologs
  • Compose and complete parts Quotations and Orders
  • Coordinate sales shipments and deliveries
  • Collect and handle customer payments and data transactions
  • Ability to order parts and accessories
  • Complete Shipping and Receiving duties (Operate a forklift; load and unload trucks)
  • Work with Westquip Service technicians
  • Maintain parts inventory
  • Prospect new clients and promote our products brands
  • Complete OEM and Westquip Parts Training

Skills and Experience Requirements:

Required Experience: * Previous experience with diesel and gas engine parts

Computer skills and knowledge

Strong customer service skills-A valid driver’s license with clean driver’s record

-Must be able to speak, read and write English

Mechanical Assembler- Calgary, AB

Westquip Diesel Sales has a full-time position available for a Mechanical Assembler at our Calgary facility. We are looking for an individual to assist with the assembly of power equipment products and other general workshop duties who enjoys working in a casual yet fast paced environment.

Area isn’t transit accessible. Reliable transportation a must.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Build/assemble/pre-delivery inspection of equipment
  • Perform general shop duties as directed by Supervisor
  • Keep work area clean to maintain safety and prevent hazards
  • Follow company safety and quality guidelines
  • Load/unload materials as required using a forklift or crane
  • Use power tools as required
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Requirements:

  • Must be mechanically inclined with mechanical background
  • Must provide their own tools. Tool list provided.
  • Steel toed boots/shoes are a must. Other PPE provided as required
  • Able to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • Hardworking, physically fit, energetic and motivated
  • Able to operate skid steers, forklifts and overhead cranes safely without incident
  • Able to operate a variety of hand and power tools to perform tasks
  • Prefer a current Class 3 Driver’s License and must provide a current 3 year Drivers Abstract when submitting a resume
  • Good work ethic
  • Willing to learn

Hourly wage $25.00/HR to $28.00/HR. Benefit package 80% Medical & Dental. RRSP Contribution Matching Program.
